This amazing film's story revolves around a rounin named Nanashi, a lost boy Kotarou and a mysterious blonde warrior Rarou. Their destinies are intertwined and only the strongest will live. With outstanding animation and great characters, Stranger: Mukou Hadan is a true samurai gem among animes.

8: Samurai 7

Aired in 2004 by Gonzo

If you ever wondered what would it be like to see an anime adaptation of Akira Kurosawa 's famous film "Seven Samurai", then check this anime. Even though it is only loosely based on this famous film and it contains a little of sci-fi elements, the storyline is similar.

7: Brave 10

6: Rurouni Kenshin (Samurai X)

Aired in 1996 by Studio Gallop and Studio Deen

Rurouni Kenshin is a famous samurai series in anime world. Torn between the good and evil, the story follows an ex-assassin Kenshin Himura who is trying to start a new life at the beginning of a new age in Japan. Which has turned its back on samurai morals, but still feeds on violence.

5: Peacemaker

Aired in 2003

This is an anime about two boys joining the Shinsengumi as they meet friends and foes. It has commedy, action, and romance. It's cute, dark, and funny in every episode. Death, love, and pranks are all wrapped in a series that many loved in the early 2000s.

4:Hakuouki

Aired in 2010 by Studio Deen

Based on the reverse harem video game, it is easy tothink that the anime series would be a cliche shoujo adaptation as well. However, there is not a lot of romance - a hallmark of the genre - because the focus is on action and the lives of clan warriors.

3: Sengoku Basara (Samurai KIngs)

Aired 2009 by Production I.G

Set during the time of the Warring Countries, this anime introduces many characters who possess almost super powers and great swordsmanship. If you are looking for an action driven anime and enjoyable fighting scenes, this is on you should watch.

2: Samurai Champloo

Aired in 2004 by Manglobe

Packed with hip-hop music and amazing sword fighting, Samurai Champloo holds a pretty high place in MAL ratings. The story follows two swordsmen with different fighting techniques who assist a clumsy waitress on her journey of finding a mysterious samurai.

And now for #1 we have.........................................
